LD Lines

LD Lines

LD Lines are a French-owned shipping company. They are predominantly a freight operator, with both deep sea and ferry operations, but also operate some passenger services. Their ferry routes are on the English Channel and Mediterranean Seas.

History

LD Lines is a subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group, a major player in maritime transport since 1904, now with a fleet of over 60 ships operating worldwide.  Besides regular maritime transportation, LD Lines has developed a strong capacity for innovation and has specialised in providing ‘tailor-made’ industrial solutions for major industrial companies.

For example, it is the maritime partner of Airbus Industries and as such was responsible for transporting elements of the A380 from European manufacturers to Toulouse; of Alcatel for the laying of undersea cables; of the Compagnie Générale de Géophysique for off-shore oil research; of Gaz de France for the transportation of liquid gas.

Louis Dreyfus companies are present in over 53 countries, with major offices in Buenos Aires, London, Paris, Sao Paulo, Wilton (Connecticut) and Memphis (Tennessee)
