What to See & Do in Fishguard
Sights Fishguard has provided the setting for several films (including Moby Dick and Under Milkwood). The Fishguard International Music Festival, held in July-August, features music and events in Fishguard, Goodwick, St David’s Cathedral and Rhos-y-Gilwen Mansion, and is a major visitor attraction. A gallery to display the Last Invasion Tapestry, which was prepared to celebrate the bicentenary of the Last Invasion of Britain in February 1997, is incorporated into the recently refurbished Town Hall. This internationally famous tapestry is a must for visitors to the area. Also worth a visit is the new Ocean Lab. Accommodation Fishguard contains numerous guest houses and some hotels, catering for the ferry traffic. There is also the Fishguard Bay Caravan and Camping Park. Set in unspoiled surroundings, the Park sits high upon a peninsula overlooking Fishguard Bay - one of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park’s most beautiful landmarks. Unique in its position, the park offers superb scenery, with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path going right through the middle, enabling one to enjoy walking in either direction along this unspoiled coast line. Across the bay is Fishguard Harbour and you can enjoy watching the Fishguard to Rosslare (Ireland) ferry as it enters and leaves the port. Back To Fishguard
