FAQ – Tickets at Port…

Q: Can I buy my ferry ticket at the port?

A: Most ferry ports have some sort of facility to sell tickets to last minute travellers, although we would always recommend you book well in advance for the following reasons: a) Carriers have recently adopted a ‘low-cost’ business model whereby prices INCREASE over time, incentivising those who book early. Booking on the day of departure will mean you pay the highest fare. b) Many carriers charge a ‘late booking fee’ on top of this higher fare. c) On busy dates you risk being turned away because the ferry is full. d) You’ll miss out on the discounted fares and special promotional offers which are normally only available to those who book well in advance.
