FAQ – Day Trip One Way…

Q: Can I save money by booking a day trip return and just using the outward leg?

A: No. Day Trip return tickets are sold by carriers at a special discounted price on the basis that both outward and return crossings are made on the same day. Carriers use a variety of means, including electronic tracking of any unused day ticket legs, to ensure that the special booking conditions attached to these discounted tickets are not abused. In all cases where any leg remains unused for any reason whatsoever, the carrier reserves the right to charge the customer for a full standard class single or return fare, as appropriate.
