FAQ – Cabin Choices…
Q: What cabin choices are available?
A: Cabins come in various sizes with a number of ‘berths’ (beds, normally between 1 and 5 per cabin) and standards can vary quite significantly from carrier to carrier and between ferries but they all have private en-suite facilities.
An ‘Inside Cabin‘ is normally windowless and positioned inside of the ship, whereas the more popular ‘Outside Cabin‘ tends to have a sea view as it is positioned on the outside of the vessel. Sometimes cabins are classified as ‘Lower Deck‘ or ‘Upper Deck‘ when they are positioned (vertically) in the lower half or upper half of the vessel. ‘Economy Cabins‘ are normally the cheapest, the poorest positioned and can be of a lower quality. Conversely, ‘Commodore‘, ‘Deluxe‘, ‘Suites‘ and ‘Club Cabins‘ are more expensive, better quality and enjoy better positions in the vessel. Some ships offer larger ‘Family Cabins‘ or special ‘Disabled Cabins‘ where the location and design are better suited for wheelchair access.
