Troon to Larne

The Port of Troon is Located just north of Ayr & Prestwick on the West coast of Scotland, and as well as being the principal fishing port in the west of Scotland, Troon is also an important ferry port with great connections via road and rail to Glasgow Paisley, Ayr and Newcastle. Troon is the Scottish half of two major ferry routes departing for Northern Ireland. Seacat sail from Troon to Belfast ferry port while P & O Irish Sea sends their ferries to Larne.

The Port of Larne is a gateway to Ireland, situated on the east coast of Northern Ireland. Located 22 miles from Belfast, 120 miles from Dublin and 34 miles from Scotland, Port of Larne’s strategic position provides easy access to the UK continental Europe and beyond via the English port of Fleetwood. The A2 coastal route starts at Larne and gives tourists access to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.  The Port of Larne is a deep-water port offering superb passenger and freight facilities. The passenger terminal has a café providing a wide range of freshly prepared hot and cold meals and a shop selling newspapers, sweets and gifts. The Port of Larne offers up to 38 daily sailings to ports in England and Scotland; over three quarters of a million passengers and more than half a million of vehicles pass through the Port of Larne each year. The town of Larne combines an historical past with modern port, shopping and leisure facilities.
