Q: Do ferries have baby changing facilities? A: Yes. Most modern ferries have very good baby changing facilities.

Q: Can I take a friend’s child with me? A: Yes, but you must carry a letter of consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian or you may be refused permission to travel at the port. You should also check that the child has a passport in their own name.

Q: Are there any restrictions for travelling with infants? A: No. There are no particular restrictions for infants who are travelling together with their parent/s.

Q: Are there any special restrictions for pregnant women? A: Yes. If you are less than 28 weeks pregnant at the time your travel is completed there are no restrictions, however, anyone travelling whilst over 28 weeks pregnant will need to carry a doctor’s certificate stating that the mother is fit to travel. Q: I’m under 18.  Can I book a ferry online? A: No. The terms and conditions of most carriers stipulate that you must be over 18 years of age to make a booking.

Q: Can children travel unaccompanied by an adult? A: All children under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult and others, over 15 but under 18, may need written authority from their parent or guardian if they are travelling without an adult. Please contact the carrier for further advice.
