Fancy the ultimate challenge? If so, how about a trip to the top of Everest?
Such an adventure is not to be taken lightly and, if you’re reasonably fit, it will take up to two years to achieve your goal. In addition to going on a training course, you have to attempt smaller peaks before going for the big one.
As the organisers say: “It takes the utmost determination and perseverance, exceptional physical and mental stamina, and unswerving commitment above all else.”
It takes a lot of money, too – an all-in price of £46,400 to achieve what is, for some, a lifetime ambition.
I have no ambition whatsoever to climb any mountains, let alone Everest. It would be way beyond me, both mentally and physically. But, if it’s your thing…
