The story about lost baggage touched a nerve because several people told me tales about it happening to them. I felt most sorry for Yvonne from Skipton – one of her family’s bags was lost on the way back from a wonderful holiday in Italy, when they flew to Manchester from Verona via Frankfurt. The airline, which she does not name, and her travel agent were of little help. Nearly a year on, she has still not had confirmation that her bag was officially lost. It’s a long and painful story of buck passing by various companies and, although some expensive clothes were lost, the most painful part was that her six-year-old boy had nearly all his possessions in the missing case.
It’s simply not good enough and the airline and agent owe Yvonne an apology, if only because they have been so slow and unhelpful.
