Thanks as always for all your interesting comments. E. Preston (he or she doesn’t leave a Christian name) has again brought up the issue of the pricing of breaks during school holidays, and is annoyed that packages are at least 25 per cent more expensive during term time.
On the subject of high charges for Internet usage on flights, Bob points out that he stayed in hotels in Montana and Salt Lake City and did not have to pay extra for wi-fi connection. But in a similar UK hotel, he was charged £17 for 24-hour access to the net. Should our hotels be copying those in the US and offering free Internet access to attract customers?
How much do we spend on holiday? Mike and Jane say Greece is excellent value and, as a couple, they budget on getting through £400/500 over two weeks, whilst staying in self-catering accommodation. They always eat out and enjoy the local wines and beers. Meanwhile, Clare tries to stay within a budget of £400 whenever she goes away.
Ian is unhappy with the new charges levied by some airlines for checking in luggage, dubbing them little more than ‘skyway robbery’.
